Lukáš Steiniger at the TA3 conference in the Tatras: crypto-assets, stablecoins and tokenisation are changing the investment landscape
The conference was organised by TA3 television as part of its ta3 conference series. The general partner was Zinc Euro, and the professional guarantor was the National Association of Real Estate Agencies of Slovakia (NARKS). The full-day programme was hosted by Lenka Buchláková.
Opening panel: A new era of investing
In the panel titled "A new era of investing: opportunities and risks for everyone" (9:00 – 10:00), Lukáš Steiniger spoke alongside Michal Kiska (Zinc Euro), Maroš Ovčarik (Brokeria), Vladimír Vaňo (Wealth Effect Management), Matej Varga (Kooperativa DSS, Association of Pension Fund Management Companies) and Peter Tkáč (National Bank of Slovakia).
The panel's topics covered the changing investment options for ordinary people, new investment instruments and alternatives to traditional funds, the reasons for the conservatism of Slovak investors, the effective management of risk in the digital environment, and the building of long-term financial stability and resilience.

Crypto-assets, stablecoins and tokenisation: Lukáš Steiniger's key theses
Lukáš Steiniger has long established himself as one of the few Slovak lawyers with a systematic focus on blockchain technology and the regulation of crypto-assets. In professional discussion and in his public appearances, he emphasises several key theses that have a fundamental impact on how Slovak investors should think about digital assets.
Bitcoin as the modern digital gold. According to Lukáš Steiniger, Bitcoin is not merely a speculative asset but is gradually establishing itself as the "modern digital gold" — a store of value with the potential to serve, in the coming decade, as a reserve asset for states and a settlement layer for international claims. For individual investors, the accumulation of Bitcoin should form the foundation of a long-term crypto portfolio.
Stablecoins as a bridge between traditional finance and blockchain. Stablecoins — crypto-assets pegged to the value of traditional currencies — represent, according to Lukáš Steiniger, a real way to harness blockchain for the fast, modern world of payments. At the same time, they accelerate the transition to the tokenisation of real-world assets and change the way capital will flow through the global financial system.
The tokenisation of real-world assets opens markets to ordinary investors. Tokenisation makes it possible to divide the value of physical assets into small digital shares, thanks to which even ordinary investors can enter asset classes that were until now reserved for affluent clients — from luxury real estate through stakes in start-ups to rights in works of art or music. According to estimates by the World Economic Forum, tokenisation could account for as much as 10% of global GDP by 2030.
The three most common mistakes of novice investors. When educating investors, Lukáš Steiniger repeatedly points to the typical mistakes made by newcomers: making decisions under the influence of FOMO (the fear of missing out), confusing long-term investing with short-term trading and the excessive use of leverage, and finally not knowing one's own investment limits and risk tolerance.
"Invest only in what you understand." The fundamental principle that Lukáš Steiniger emphasises in every contact with investors is investing only in assets and projects that the investor genuinely understands. Passively leaving savings in ordinary accounts reduces their real value — money should work, not sit idle.
Reform of the taxation of the capital market and crypto-assets in Slovakia
Alongside his work at STEINIGER | law firm, Lukáš Steiniger is actively involved in the professional discussion on the reform of the taxation of the capital market in Slovakia — including crypto-assets. He cooperates with the National Bank of Slovakia, the FINAS association (Fintech & Insurtech Association of Slovakia) and the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic with the aim of creating an environment that is motivating and competitive for Slovak investors within the European Union.
In 2024, he spoke as a panellist at the National Bank of Slovakia's conference on the Slovak financial market and innovation, in the sections devoted to the regulation of crypto-assets, AML compliance and the use of artificial intelligence in finance.
